After being raised in Southern California my whole life, I decided to go to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Arizona State University. Knowing my passion for teaching, I looked into the different credentialing programs offered in the area. After some research, I knew I was at the finest school. ASU offered courses with the latest information from the education world. I was working with students, learning about inquiry based teaching, and developing lessons plan before I was even a student teacher. The program finishes with a year of classes that incorporate and enhance the student teaching experience. The amount of time spent in the classroom has left me feeling confident in my abilities to teach and have a classroom of my own. I have truly enjoyed my time in Arizona and am thankful for the education I received but now I ready to return to Simi Valley, California and give back to the community I was raised in.
As a 2014 graduate of Arizona State University, I am leaving with a year of student teaching experience in both elementary and special education. Over the past 2 years I have created over 100 lessons which I have personally taught at schools in various grades. During my time spent studying at ASU, I have earned Deans list four times and will be graduating Magna Cum Laude. My love for teaching and learning has allowed me to gain a plethora of knowledge during my time in this program. In May 2014, I will be certified to teacher elementary education grade 1-6 and special education K-12.
